Mayoral Strategic Authorities MSA
Mayoral Strategic Authorities (MSAs) replace Mayoral Combined Authorities (MCA) and are part of a streamlined framework for devolution the potential for greater powers, especially under the "established mayoral" tier, which will receive consolidated budgets and access to a wider range of devolved powers and functions than the previous Mayoral Combined Authority model. Greater decision making roles in the development of local economic strategies, managing key transport infrastructure and partnering with government departments to drive growth and investment in their areas. Expectations being to have a significant role in areas such as local business support, training, and skills development.
